Jose Manuel Tejeda is a Cuban-born guitarist whose expressive technique and classical training have made him a sought-after performer in Austin’s world-music and flamenco scenes. Originally from Havana, Jose studied concert music and classical guitar at the prestigious Instituto Superior de Arte, where he developed the rich musical foundation that defines his sound today.
Before moving to Austin in 2012, he served as musical director and guitarist for renowned Havana-based companies Alma Flamenca and Ecos Flamenco Company. Since relocating to Texas, Jose has become a core member of A’lante Flamenco and performs with celebrated Austin groups including Atash and The Night Mothers.
In addition to his work on stage, Jose shares his craft through private guitar instruction, blending classical technique with the rhythmic traditions of flamenco, world music, and Latin styles.
