Linda Horukeye was born and raised in Burundi, a small yet culturally rich country in East Africa. After relocating from Washington, D.C. to Austin in 2018, she noticed a striking absence of authentic East African flavors in the city’s diverse food scene. Guided by her love for cooking and a desire to share the taste of home, Linda launched Jungle Flavorz in 2021.
What began as a passion project has since evolved into a beloved catering business celebrated for its bold, traditional East African dishes. Jungle Flavorz continues to grow, with plans underway to open a dedicated location—marking the next step in Linda’s mission to bring culture, community, and unforgettable flavor to Austin and beyond.
