Life today is very loud. We are always surrounded by noise—from our phones, our jobs, and our busy schedules. This constant noise can make us feel tired and disconnected. To stay healthy, we need “third spaces.” These are places that are not work and not home, where we can just be ourselves. When we gather to hear live music, we find one of these spaces. We stop being workers or bosses and start being humans again.
The Music as a Bridge
On Friday, July 26, Purple Jam is creating a space like this at CUBA512. The night is called Latin Jazz Night. Latin jazz is special because it is like a conversation between the instruments. It doesn’t just ask you to listen; it invites you to feel.
The music will be led by Paul Deemer’s band. Paul is a musician who knows that jazz is about more than just notes. It is about the feeling in the room. His band plays with a rich, brass sound and steady rhythms that help people relax and let go of their daily stress.
A Place to Belong
Purple Jam wants to be a “mouthpiece” for the community. This means we want to give people a place to tell their stories and feel like they belong. At CUBA512, there are no “rules” for how to act. You can dance, you can talk, or you can just sit and enjoy the local food and drinks.
When we gather for a night like this, we are doing something very old and very important. We are choosing to be present. Whether you are on the dance floor or sharing a meal with a new friend, the goal is the same: to breathe, to listen, and to remember that we are all on this journey together.
